UPDATE TO TERMS: Changes to Live Bidding Fees

Please be aware that auctions held after Monday 17th February 2025, will introduce a Live Bidding surcharge for bidding live with a gildings.co.uk account.
Since 2020 we have strived to offer bidding parity between clients bidding live through a gildings.co.uk account, to those clients bidding in the room, via absentee, or telephone, by offering zero additional fees for the live bidding facility. Regrettably, with the continued rise in overheads in the current economic landscape, the cost of offering this service is no longer one we can absolve as a company.
To that effect, clients bidding live through a gildings.co.uk account will incur a surcharge of 3.6% (VAT inclusive) on the final hammer price, in addition to the Buyer’s Premium which remains at 28.8% (VAT inclusive) of the final hammer price.
The traditional methods of bidding in person, submitting an absentee bid prior to the start of the auction, or arranging a telephone bid for lots starting at £200 or above, incur no surcharges other than the house Buyer’s Premium.
Bidding live through a gildings.co.uk account still offers a reduced fee compared to bidding via the-saleroom.com, with the fee for that service remaining at an additional 5.94% of the final hammer price.
